Cars I would love to own (but I don't)

S Class Sedan - Starting with the most "boring" one on the list. Tell me to picture a family car and I’ll picture the S-Class sedan. I don’t get how people go for something that looks like an egg when this exists. “Oh, but I need space” - for what, Karen?! Have you seen the trunk of an S-Class? You can literally fit 3 weeks of grocery shopping, a baby stroller, a suitcase and a body in it. I’ll be concerned, if this is not enough. “Oh, but it’s too big” - I’m sorry that you’re used to small things, Karen. It’s probably only 40cm longer than your egg, but ok. If 40cm are a dealbreaker, you deserve the least engaging experience in a car that is the modern SUV.
No, but seriously, this is the best family car. I live in a timeline where I get excited when I see a sedan. I miss the sedans on the road, they make so much more sense than the ugly modern SUVs. They’re more comfortable, they have a similar (if not more) cargo space, they have better extras, they’re actually built for 4 or 5 people (modern SUVs are cramped in the back) and they look better. I can’t find a reason why we stopped buying sedans. If I ever have kids, this will be the preferred family car!

THIS ... is how I picture my family car
M3 Touring
I’m new to the BMW squad and at the moment I don’t feel like exploring it any further than the M2, but the M3 Touring is maybe where I’m heading next. I need a dog car. I have an allocation for a Cybertruck, I’m not sure if I’ll ever see it produced, but I thought it would make a fun dog car. But now with 2 Rottweilers, I definitely have to buy something. Again, I don’t see why someone would go for a SUV, when wagons exist. Whether you go for the Merc option, or for the BMW one, I don’t think you’ll ever look at SUVs again. I see less and less of those and it just doesn’t make sense why. Maybe I’m looking at my dog car in the face of the M3 Touring

Audi R8
I just find these utterly attractive for whatever reason. Maybe because I just hate the Huracan and I challenge all my love for the R8. If you choose an R8 over a Huracan, you know what’s up and you have a good taste. I like you. We can be friends. I don’t think I’ll ever own one of these, but I can imagine myself owning one. You can buy one of these for 80k! And the first gen comes with a 6-speed gated manual option. This is where fun is at, kids, and I can’t comprehend why genz are hyping up cars they’ll never be able to afford, meanwhile the manual R8 exists. TikTok car taste is the killer of fun. Works for me, because while you’re hyping up an amateur track car (*coughs* GT3 RS coughs*), I can buy one of these for 80k. Thanks for the great deal!

Dodge Viper
A proper widow maker. It looks sexy, it sounds sexy, it drives sexy. This is fun on wheels. The Viper ACR is still the fastest American rear-wheel-drive car with a manual gearbox. I don’t see these getting hype recently. The “regular” viper comes with a V10, 640hp to the rear and a 6-speed manual transmission. What else do you need? And the best part is it costs around 80k! Like, hello, are we car people for real, or we just like hype cars?! I’m personally not a huge fan of the V10, but I would love to own a Viper when we have more space. To me, the American sports cars are where it's at - they’re so pure and fun that nothing comes close, especially if you want to have fun on the daily and for less!

Lotus Emira FE
Again, I don’t see these around and getting hype. It’s a mid-engined sports car that comes with a 3.5L V6, which produces 400hp. Yes, it comes as a manual as well. Perfect daily fun car! Due to the more exotic appeal of Lotus, these go for around 100k. Definitely on the pricer side on this list, but it guarantees fun! The V6 has its place in the sports cars segment and the Emira is one of the purest iterations of it you can experience.
If I had more space for fun dailies - this one will be on the top of my list.

Alpine A110 S
The perfect daily, maybe? Easily in my top 5 daily cars I would love to own. It does come only with an auto transmission, but it’s super light - only 1100kg!!! and has an impressive weight distribution that makes it appealing to me. The looks are distinctive and I’m a fan. I’ve always been a bigger fan of the evolutionary car design and I appreciate when a brand looks back to its roots for an inspiration. For the A110 S, the grass isn’t greener on the other side. It sticks to what it does best. It’s also rear mid-engine and rear-wheel-drive. It comes with 300hp, but its lightness and agility will make you feel like you’re driving a way more powerful machine.
Definitely a top 3 choice for when more space is available.
