Controversial car opinions
As I’m taking my Monster 720S for a spin, it’s time for another opinion piece.
These are just my opinions, you don’t have to agree. Feel free to disagree.

Ferrari F50 > Ferrari F40
The F50 is more beautiful, more refined, more unique, more everything. It’s more Ferrari, even. When I was a kid, Shell gave you Ferrari toy cars for points. Well, the first Ferrari I picked was the F50. It left a mark on my consciousness and to me it’s one of the most beautiful cars ever made.
F40 is cute, but F50 screams money and power.
Lexus LFA is the most overrated car, ever
No way that thing costs millions. I’m always so underwhelmed by it and it keeps giving me nothing. I don’t get the hype and I never will. Plenty of cooler cars!
Porsche is the most overrated brand, ever
Oh, the GT3 RS - the poor man’s dream car. The cult around this model makes me wanna throw up, literally. It shows me you know nothing about cars and you just want to fit in. It’s the most boring car you can possibly own for the money. I don’t know a single collector, who has a GT3 RS in their multi-million EUR collections. Not a single soul and this tells me enough. If you give me 350k EUR, I can assure you I’m not heading to Porsche to drop the bag there.
Not to mention they’re an absolute nightmare to work on and extremely fragile. A GT3 RS rear-ended an SLR last year at an event. The SLR just needed a 700EUR part replacement, the GT3 RS was almost totalled and is still in the shop. The owner of the GT3 RS can’t wait to get rid of it and buy a McLaren.
The only Porsche models that I find acceptable are the Carrera GT, the Dakar and the GT4. They’re chill. We’re chill. Anything else - 🤮 boring, next! If I ever buy a Porsche, it'll be the cheapest Carrera and convert it to a Dakar. You can't pay me to consider owning a Porsche, unless it's for this project.
I don't get the hypercars hype
I get the beauty, the technology and that they’re MEGA cool, but … they cost millions. I don’t know, maybe I’m the problem, but I just can’t justify spending millions on just one car. It doesn’t make sense to me and the amount of cool cars you can buy for the price of a Koenigsegg, it just makes them off-putting to me. I would rather have an SLR, a Murci, a McLaren and a Ferrari for the price of one hypercar. But that’s just me.
Manual cars don’t bring more value than auto cars / The stick has no place in supercars. This one is for the GenZ car boys thinking a car is a car when it’s manual. You still have a lot to learn.
When I think of a manual car, I think of a V8 Mustang, for example. I don’t think of a Ferrari or a Lamborghini. The current trendy obsession with manual supercars and manual conversions is just dumb. It’s mostly driven by people who’ve never owned any of the cars and they believe these cars are better appreciated with a manual transmission. It’s plain stupidity. The stick has no place in a car that is supposed to go fast, ok?! Read that again, if you need to. You don’t gain much from the stick in these cars. These cars already require balls and skills, them being manual won’t really contribute to the experience. The car itself and being on top of it is the experience. So, my advice is: work hard, buy a supercar and then we’ll talk about it.
A manual V8 Mustang on the other hand, it makes total sense.
Lamborghini > Ferrari
Not only because V12 Lambos exist, but Ferrari as a brand sucks a lot. They’re currently struggling due to their own pretentious policies. The sales have never been this low. I can’t imagine going to Ferrari, spec a car, give them my money and then the car comes with a list “do’s and don’ts, or else". I will never, ever buy a Ferrari from Ferrari. Not putting their customers on a pedestal is their downfall atm.
Lamborghini are chill.
I hate the SUVs by supercar/performance brands
They’re all ugly. I drove the other day in front of a Purosangue and let me tell you I thought it was a Mazda the whole time. No way this ugly SUV costs 500k. It had 0 presence. You’re better off with a Mazda actually. A neighbour has a Purosangue and I’m just so used to the view and the sound that it just goes unnoticed by this point. The Urus - same shit. Ugly on ugly. The types that buy these cars are either super rich men who gift these SUVs to their wife/ mistress or a man with a small peepee. They use the brand association with wealth to show off. Not one car enthusiast will ever buy any of these SUVs. I agree though that there are plenty of people who want their ego inflated by materialistic stuff like a Lambo badge on an Audi SUV platform. You do you, honey.
I dislike anything done by Brabus or Mansory
Meh, just meh. Why? If bad taste had a name it would be Mansory.
The Japanese cars are so mid that they’re utterly bad
“Oh, I’m different, I like JDM”. You’re a joke and so is your taste. I can never be friends with someone who’s into JDM. Never. You’re just like the GT3 RS cult kids - tasteless. They’re underpowered, underperforming, basic and disappointing. They’re not even kawaii. Don’t get me started on the JDM tuning scene. Overstimulating nothingness.
"Car girls” and their pink cars just don’t get cars
I’m a car girl, because I’m a woman. But I’m a car person, if the “car girls” have to exist and they do. I’m a feminine woman, I embrace my sex appeal and charm, but to go and wrap my car pink and add heart-shaped exhausts to my daily has never occurred to me. Never, not once. If anything why would you want to put yourself in danger, telling the whole world a “quirky girly girl” is driving this car? To me that’s a safety concern. All my cars have a masculine energy. Not even a thing gives it away that the owner is a woman. I like it that way. I buy a car for the car itself. So, yeah, I don’t get the going above and beyond to tell the world you’re a woman and harassing your car, so that you can feel “cute” while driving. Maybe as a warning - I always expect a bad driver when I see these around.
See you around! 💚
