The pre-Rally update

As promised, here's the rally update. @murci_daily and I will be sharing the same Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 for 5 days. From 22.06 to 26.06 we will be part of Premium Rally.

As much as I'm excited to participate in the rally itself, I'm even more excited that we're participating with an LP640. My favourite Lamborghini of them all. Let me tell you one thing though: it's an absolute horror to find tires for the OEM wheels. We've been trying for a few weeks now and they're all on 3-4 months backorder. We called Pirelli Europe, they said only 2 cars are currently using this exact size - the Murci and the Diablo and therefore you need to order in advance, otherwise we can just forget about a new set. And even if we go with the current set, we most definitely will need to replace it after the rally. We need a new set either way. *This is a problem only in Europe, not in the US* So what are the options?

Option 1: We order tires from the US. The tires alone are roughly 4k for the set and the DHL express delivery will be 2k. To sum up - 6k to get the tires from the US. But here comes the BUT. Tires are one of few items that are the hardest to get released at the border for whatever reason. Even if we go with this option, it would take weeks to release the set, we'll need to hire agents to do it for us, basically - one big hurdle. Option 2: We change the wheels with a different size. As much as we're both anti-tuning, this is a good option and will open a door of possibilities and brands. The Murci will finally get a set of winter tires. The problem with this option is that the Murci is an Italian supercar. We'll engage all the creativity we possess in this initiative and experiment with different wheel sizes in the next few days. I'll update you in the next rally post on our final decision about the tires.

So back to the rally. Here's the map and the stops we'll make until the finish line in the usual and famous Sveti Vlas.

We'll have a track day at Istanbul Park (the former F1 track). There, we'll race against each other for the fastest lap and do some parade laps with all the participating supercars and sports cars. You can expect to see Lamborghini Aventador and Aventador Roadster, Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 (us, there's only one Murci this year), McLaren 720S, Ferrari 488 Pista and sports cars like Porsche GT3 911, Mercedes-Benz GTR AMG and many, many more. We're in a pleasant company I would say. Pretty sure we'll do some parade driving through all the stops. If your hear some loud engines, that's us!

Here's me and Murci in the garage. Absolutely love this car.

Like I said in the previous post, we'll be taking our own cameras and GoPros, but the rally itself will have its own camera crew and will film everything. The video premiere of the 2022 season is scheduled for November. I'm not going to make you wait until November, so we'll make sure to film some great moments! Don't forget to follow @murcie_daily, he'll be sharing photos, lives and stories as well!
