Basically you have to pay, if you want to take a photoshoot, a video or whatever of the cars from now on.
Being nice only made some of you extremely entitled. I don’t owe you anything.
Unfortunately, this is the case when everyone gets fucked because of a few people. But I’ve had enough.
And we’re talking mostly about kids with entry-level cameras and iPhones. I mean good for you for having a hobby, but being disrespectful can take you only so far. I can’t imagine being your age and talking to someone who’s way ahead in life than I am and be rude to them while asking them a favour?! Just think about it. I won’t put up with such behaviour. I’m taking my car from my garage, dedicating my time to do you a favour, which also costs me money, so that you can be rude? Hell, nah!
You think you’re that good? Start charging money for your photos and see what people actually think of your work. Yeah, start charging and see who’s willing to pay for the photos. Then we can talk about how good your work actually is and how much my cars need your work. How about that? Let’s be professional on both ends.
It costs money to take these cars out. Have you heard of cost per kilometre? Yeah, the cars have a massive spreadsheet for that only. Trust me, it’s not for the weak. I’m trying to say nicely that me doing you a favour costs me money. I used to do it for free, because at one point I would have killed to have an access to such cars. Not literally, but you get the point. It gives me joy to inspire some of you to go after your dreams. I love doing that and I see the fire in your eyes when you look at them cars. But because we (the car owners) are so nice to you, it gave you an idea you can actually be rude and entitled to have an access and when we say no, you absolutely lose it. As if your IG account means something. It doesn’t. Mine doesn’t as well. I do everything for the fun. I don’t do it to pump my ego. I own the car, I enjoy the car, I drive the car, I pay for the car. I can do whatever the fuck I want with the car and to the car, because I pay for the car. You on the other hand, you can’t do any of that. You shouldn’t expect the same level of privilege. Sorry. But I’m not sorry.
If you want to take photos of the cars - rent them per hour and we’re good.
You want to do a review of the cars - rent them, wire the deposit and we’re good. I don’t think you should drive such cars, if you can’t afford to wreck them.
There’s this female somewhat popular car blogger that is notorious for being entitled and mean. She also uses her contacts to contact car owners to beg for reviews, but never does it herself. So, from one contact to another, she asked to review one of our cars. We got back with “If you want to drive the car, you need to pay for that”. She came back with an excuse why she can’t pay. Sorry, we’re not a charity. Same girl tried to get into the 720S to take photos from the seat, while I was next to it, literally holding the key. Without any “Can I", "please”. She just went straight for the door and she could’t find how to open the door. Some car blogger, indeed. She just looked me in the eyes and said “HMMM!” and then disappeared. Like, the owner is next to the car, she knows who I am. No excuse for such behaviour! I don’t owe you anything! You can’t just come to my car and try a forced entry. WTF! Back off, little bird. Maybe the passenger side of the car is permanently locked from the outside? McLarens can do that. But what do I know, I'm just an owner. She's a car blogger. LMAO Needless to say all the cars are equipped with 360 degrees cameras and GPS trackers integrated into the chassis, not some wonky airtags. I got it taped, if you try to do something. 🍿
On both occasions when two of the cars have appeared in music videos, we were paid. The cars were rented. So why the double standard?! Not anymore.
